Happy Halloween people!
Or... Happy belated Halloween!
I never experience Halloween before back in Malaysia. This is the first time ever I celebrated such an event. And I love it a lot. Tons of fun and laughter and parties. Fun!
Alright.. And how I celebrate my Halloween???
Well, thanks to my housemates who dragged me along to the halloween party. It's F-U-N.!
And yeah. Everyone in the house is getting prepared for the party... making up, dressed up in funny way... Like... them!
Ian!

And Matthew.H!

Who dressed up as fairies.. YES! FAIRIES!

And this is our house's fairies.. Showing off their lotsatoilettissuewraptogether boops.

er...
And they dance too!
And meet...
Gary!
The mummy. Er?

And Ian get some make up from Emily!
Good one Ian..
And now they are ready to rock the halloween night!

And other than the 3 of em... Here's the other peeps in the house...
Like...
Emily!

The Vampire. o.O

Louise.
The witch.
Will... The Christmas Devil?
Gary the Mummy...
Andrea
The Bee...
And don't forget....
Me! Dressed up as.. er... Don't know.
Wait! I can explain... I didnt actually prepare to go for the party until the last minutes... and all I have is a wand... so i guess.. I'm a fairy godfather? Yeah. Maybe!
And that's why...

I'm with this two 'hot' fairies! -.-
And there's everyone (except for Matthew.L, David n Tom missing...)
Lindley House E!
And since we don't have any pumpkin for decoration... Will decided to...
use a cardboard instead? HAHA
And more photos... like this...
'hot' fairy sitting on my lap? LOL Don't laugh or I kill you.
And Ian just loves to make up. Again n again. LOL
And here we go! Hitting the Gallery!
And here's some photos taken in the Halloween party!!!

And... that's how i celebrated my first Halloween!!!!
That's for now. Cheers!
And here's another drafted long long ago post...
It's the second week I'm York and it's Freshers' week. Tons of parties going on in the freshers' week.
Here's some of the parties i joined...
The Freshers' Ball..

It's me! Dressed up. HOHO
The theme for the ball is Circus Macabre. And you will see 'circus' show around the York Race Course.

And well... The freshers' ball is not the thing for me.. so I don't really enjoy it a lot. And I met Kana from Japan n Reeves from Singapore and we just decided to grab some bite outside the race course. And it's fish and chips again...

Kana and I

Reeves, Kana n me again!
Jerone, Kana, Reeves and who else?

Me!!!!
And another event... The ISA night...
Where I found out that... there's a Buddha statue in the University Campus!

And head to the ISA night. It was not bad actually...
And some pics from the night...

Another event on thursday is the Bar Ftse...
Where basically every drinks starts with a price then the price will fluctuate.

And the freshers' fair on the weekend where all the societies, clubs and other body in University have a exhibition of their activities and stuff.
There's seriously a lot of different clubs and societies in university. Club like Skydiving clubs, Pole dancing club, caving club and etc. and it's cool!

And we found this untaken path just as we came out from the sports center
Access All Areas on Sunday.
This is the event that I love the most. There's different 6 theme of Disco held in the campus areas and 6 different kinda of experience.
6 different themes were... Dance and RnB at James College, Metal, Punk Rock at Vanburgh College, Summer Ground at Langwith College, Silent Disco at Alcuin College, Dub n DnB at at Derwent College and Hip Hop and Ragae at Wentworth College.

Us, at the Courtyard waiting for the event to get started.

And most important thing of all is that...
This is the first time ever I saw the Central Hall actually light up. And it's very beautiful. Some shots of the central hall is available down this post.

Lame Post. I know.
The Metal, Punk and Rock at Vanburgh College...

The disco that I like the most is the Silent Disco at Alcuin College.
It's very unique kind of disco. We were given an earphone each and there's like 2-3 channels where you can switch between music. It's quite funny when you see people around you are dancing in different cause of the different music. And it's really really special.
And here's some pics of it...

Hip Hop and Ragae at Wentworth college is quite nice too.
Heavy music were played, and we got... Heart attack?!?!?!??

Probably NOT!
And that's it for the whole freshers' week. I made it short though.. Skipped all the boring part.
That's all for this post. And here's a better view of the Central Hall with the view of lake on it...
I love Sunday. Especially when there's lotsa sunshine.
David, Samantha, Joan and I decided to hit the town on Sunday.
And we took different route by using the cattle field pathway and it's like walking by the countryside. Nice scenic view.

And we have to climb up this small hill.. and it's beautiful.

And we took a short cut where we came across this...

The creepy church! haha
And this! The day tour bus.
And here's city center. Where we encounter... street orchestra?

And we went to the river side again for the view..

And we went to the York market. It's nice there.

A lot of nice and cute stuff... Like this!

And here's the best milk shake shop in the city. Trust me. It's a MUST to try it out.

They serves more than 180 kind of flavours and the taste is classic!

Milkshake? haha
And we keep walking around...

Till I encounter this!

Scary? No..
And we walked to the Morrisons to get some groceries...

And I think we were too late for it and the shop were closed.
uh!
And we went back after that...
blah. crappy ending again...
But before ending a post.. I saw this guy in the road!

Matrix guy? LOL
Alright.. here comes a long long post about what happened in this few days... ( i drafted this LONG LONG time ago...)
Alright, here's a bit of what's going on during the orientation week.
Basically we have various number of talks going on during orientation week. And the campus were kinda desolated cause there's just all the international student there.
And that's basically where we have all our talks...

The Central Hall
The central hall is like the landmark of the university. It's big and it looks like UFO.

And on the first night, David and I went to find some food around university and there's no bars or cafe open at that time. And we met another group of people and we managed to find someone and asked for the direction. And we went to the Charles bar, which is just at the Heslington Village.

And here's the people! Sam, david, ME, Rachel, Danielle and Joan.
And more talks in the UFO... I mean Central Hall.

And on the afternoon, we went for the city treasure hunt.
The members of the welcome team take us to the town.
And here's where we start our city treasure hunt.

And this gate... the Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate.

The shambles. A medieval street in York. It's very nice there.

And here's my team mates..

Busy finding the clues

And here's one of the York's Landmark. The Clifford's Tower.

Clifford Tower. Again.

And here's my team! With 5 team mates missing.
And the next day.. David and I have our own personal exploration trip to the town...
And York is really beautiful place.
With scenic view like this...

HOHO!

David!

And after a whole day of walking.. We went to have fish and chips at the Jenny's Fish n Chips.

And wow... The fish and chips here are really good.

And we decided to again. Explore York on the Saturday again...

Nothing much to say this time...
And Saturday night there's a fresher's BBQ night where they serves tasty burgers and hotdogs. And well... get to know more and more friends there.

And that's it for now...
And before ending the post... again...

Yours Sincerely. LOL
Greetings! I've settled down in York and here comes a short update about things there...
I've safely touched down at Manchester airport few days ago after 14 hours flight from Penang to Singapore and from Singapore to Manchester.

I arrived at the Manchester airport around 7 in the morning. I had some difficulties in finding the University's desk... where it doesn't open until 9am. And yeah. I've been wandering around the airport like an idiot for 2 hours and finally found the University's desk.
After that we got into the coach and it took around 2 hours to reach the University's campus.
And here's some view from the coach of the University of York's campus.

I am staying at the Halifax College in the University, it's actually the furthest college away from the university. It will takes around 10-15 walks to the campus. And now my leg hurts cause of all those walks.
And here's where I am going to stay for the next 9 months.
House E of Lindley Court.
And special thanks to one of the welcome team members were kind to help me to carry my heavy luggage to my room which is located on the 1st floor of my house.

Here's some view of my room before I unpack all my stuff...

Still alright yeah?
And here's our house's kitchen... It's quite spacious actually, compare with the other house in Halifax.

And here's the toilet and shower room.
toilet
Shower room.
Oh ya! I forgot to mention that there will be 10 people living in house E.
We'll be sharing 2 toilets (it's actually quite small), 1 shower room and 1 bathroom (with only hot tub inside). It's quite okay actually, but when everything getting started, I might have to wake up early to use the toilets. Haha..
For now, I'm living with only one house mate in our house.
And here he is...

David
David from Germany!
I told him that I'm going to blog about him and ask him to post for me... and here's what we get! hahaha... And not forget to mention... He's freaking tall! like around 190cm++...I look like a shorty when I'm standing beside him.
And here's something he made on the first day. Nice one.

And that's all for now... more updates will be coming really soon....
And for now...
That's me!!! DON'T LAUGH.
In a few hours time, I will be leaving my beloved family and friends to further my studies in UK.
It's another start of a new journey for me in the University of York.
The University of York (informally York University, or simply York, occasionally abbreviated as Ebor for post-nominals), located in the city of York, England is a leading academic institution and one of a handful of top 100 universities in the world that are situated in the U.K. Established in 1963, the campus university has expanded to more than thirty departments and centres, covering a wide range of subjects. In 2003 it attracted the highest research income per capita of any UK university. The university has built a reputation in less than half a century that places it among the top 30 universities in Europe.
And why York?
- The University is currently ranked 81 in the world according to the Times Higher Education supplement, a remarkable achievement for a relatively young university, just 44 years old
- The University is currently 9th in the Times Newspaper: Good University Guide 2009
- The University is currently 9th in the well-respected Sunday Times league table of UK universities
- York has among the highest proportion of research activity of world-leading 4* status of any UK university, and is rated 8th out of 159 higher education institutions in the UK for its research excellence.
- The city of York was voted European Tourism City of the Year in 2007
- The city is a unique mixture of 2000 years of history but the modern city is also a magnet for high-tech businesses. The development of York Science Park has made York one of the first dedicated Science Cities in the UK
- The city is easy to reach from other parts of the UK and around 2 hours by train from London
Here's some photos i google up online.
